After the Afghan Detainee Abuse Scandal story broke late last year, I felt compelled to send my MP a brief email urging him to stand up in parliament and demand a full public inquiry into the allegations that the Canadian Forces and the current government had knowledge of the torture of detainees at the hands of our Afghan allies and continued to hand over prisoners anyway:
I was perusing the LF Press this morning, and read an article about On the Move Organics local delivery service by bicycle! Plus it's on page A2 (the second page of the paper)! I was really happy to see the LF Press giving generous coverage to a small startup business based in Old East.
I'm open to suggestions about a London march/rally based off of the "Freedom Not Fear" international action day. More info can be found here.

While I was stopped in Guelph today, I found out about a not-for-profit artist-run centre called Ed Video. It aims to support media artists and independent productions in Southwest Ontario. They maintain an extensive equipment pool with video cameras, lighting equipment, audio eqiupment, editing software, etc. and editing suits. They also provide workshops on all sorts of subjects such as production, post-production, shooting, equipment orientations, writing, editing and more. and finally, they also offer funding assistance.
As has been promised for well over a year, Empowerment will begin construction of 'Empowerment Studios' in early May, in the hopes of having this project completed by late summer. read more »
The Third Annual London Indie Media Fair will be held on Saturday, March 29, from 1 - 5 pm in the Stevenson-Hunt rooms at the Central Branch of the London Public Library. Last year was a tremendous success, and we expect it to grow again this year.
The room will be filled with people showing, selling and trading their independent media, including zines, comics, silkscreened patches, posters, literature / art / political content, local music, photography, film, and online media.
