A biodieseler's blog

 July 2006

I had a fantastic time with family at our reunion in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Some of my family I haven't even met, and most I haven't seen in over 10 or 15 years. Wow. All of my cousins are all grown up, and I guess they are thinking the same thing about me. I will definitely be visiting this place a lot more often in the future. My aunt's new boyfriend told me that Alcan (an aluminum fabrication company) is getting into the biofuels industry, and they are seeking biofuels researchers at $1500 a week. I will apply, but I am pretty sure I wouldn't take the job, as it would almost be like selling my life away to a corporation if I did that. I would rather do the biofuels thing for free and be able to choose where I live than to be forced to move somewhere to do it for money.

I will be working a lot more from now on at the O-Prize (Omega Prize) because I think it is completely necessary to be manifested at this stage in human development. We are all becoming aware of peak oil, and people are seeking solutions. One of those solutions is in algae as not only a source of Omega 3 DHAs that could completely alleviate worldwide neurological health problems, but also as a source of biodiesel, ethanol, and hydrogen fuel.

A member of X-Prize(.org) has accepted my request to get mentoring on the process of incentive prize development, so I will definitely be wrapping my efforts around that, as well as the LC Biodiesel Initiative (thank you sooooo much Jeff P. for keeping the fire burning while I am gone).

Another big effort of mine is to continue the fight against Dalton McGuinty and his fucking nuclear plan. Damn his plan to waste Ontario people's money... 83 billion of it on weapons grade nuclear energy. Fuck him and fuck his plan. 83 billion could create 100s of thousands of jobs, as well as build the infrastructure in order to completely replace Ontario's petroleum supply with a renewable source of biofuel feedstock... We're talking about energy independence for Ontario forever... but Dalton is talking dependence on expensive and unnecessarily dangerous solutions as well as high paying jobs for less than a thousand people, and most of them American...

June 2006

Okay... big change of plans. I am now MOVING semi-permanently to London, as I have found that I truly am enjoying London and its residence so far (thanks you for all the help so far, Londoners!). I even got a job with Blue Diamond window cleaning, so make sure to look up and you might see me cleaning some of your nice windows here.

I am presenting at the RSF with Jason Phillips and we'll be teaching people how to make biodiesel fuel. We'll also be putting on a "Mini Peak Oil Forum", like the one I helped organize in Ottawa, which can be found at CrudeAwakening.net. I think the Peak Oil Forum will be on Sunday.... so make sure to come early and register (it's free!) because it will be first come, first serve.

I need help!!!!! Jason and I need a few things for the RSF.. here's our list:

-Waste vegetable oil

-Ethanol alcohol, isopropyl, and phosphoric acid,

-Sodium Hydroxide (lye)

-HDPE containers, stainless steel containers and mason jars

-fuel pump

-diesel generator or diesel vehicle to run on our fuel when it is finished

-photocopying!!!!!

-Safety equipment (goggles, lab coat, chemical resistant gloves, respirator)

-thermometer, ph meter,

-a few volunteers??

-a table

-a digital projector

-PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW ABOUT BIODIESEL!!!!!!!

My hobbies are music (playing and audio engineering), teaching people about biofuels,  carpentry, cooking and shiatsu massage therapy. I also consider these trade skills.

Give me an email or call and make sure to check out my website, which has a lot more on what I do. Thanks.
