Looking for creative ideas to earn pledges for a fundraising event

I'm helping the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation compile a list of creative ways to raise pledges for their upcoming Heel n' Wheel-a-thon. I figured that London Commons would be a good group of people to ask for ideas. There seems to be a real creative and community-minded group here. I can't wait to see what kind of ideas are suggested!

Hopefully this list will be useful to other groups trying to raise money as well!

Here are a few ideas that have been successful in the past.

• Biggest Loser competition - everyone pays $20 to enter, winner takes portion of the earnings.
• Coffee runs - Ask co-workers to donate their change in exchange for you picking up the coffee
• Yard sale
• Sports pool
• Crafts - one woman has raised over $500 through the sale of home made greeting cards
