Dress up real wacky like, come jogging! watch the facepaint melt off your sweaty face! fun times! We will meet at the Mulberry tree on the corner of Maitland and Central and jog around for an hour in costume for exercise and general hilarity.
Jupiter will be in opposition tonight. that means it'll be biggest and brightest, and best for viewing with anything from naked eyes to telescopes.
If you use a telescope you might be able to see its moons as well. Its a great chance to peek a glimpse at this great Giant.
To help locate Jupiter, try the free (open source) program Stellarium, its availible for mac, windows, and Linux. (quick google search will get you on it).
Short notice, but I didn't check my sky charts pages til a few minutes ago. but you can see the Perseids meteor shower in the perseus constellaion tonight. Perseus is in the north east sky after midnight, and should be at its peak shower just before morning. Might be able to see bits up to Aug 22.
at its peak you might glance upto 60 meteors an hour. Its one of the best meteor showers to happen often.
